I can't believe most of you didn't already know this. Don't any of you watch top gear? Those prices are not in USD you know.
It has nothing to do with tax. It has everything to do with volume. United states has just under 800 cars per 1000 people and germany has just over 500 cars per 1000 people and when you factor in the population difference you can see the walmart effect.
A lot of other items have the same issue there. However you can have a better standard of living in germany and most west europe countries if you make $50k or less a year. If you make more then $50k it's USA all the way. When you get into $100k a year and more, you're so much better off here.
