Agreed. I live in FL and I drive everyday and almost every night and IMHO the older drivers are much more dangerous, however young drivers are making many mistakes as well. The old people do 30-35 in a 45mph zone because they can't see at night and during the day they're too cool to use turn signals and they never look over before merging into my lane. Another one I hate is that there's a three lane road that comes up to busy intersection near my home. The right lane is strictly for right turns onto a larger road. Well, everyday you've got the old people that refuse to get into the right lane behind the train line of vehicles waiting for the right turn. Instead they march up the center lane and then cut somebody off at the last second to make their right and avoiding the line. Perhaps they "forgot" they had to turn, I don't know. Also, old people are by far the worst at riding the left lane for miles, even right beside another vehicle that's doing the same speed. This makes me want to pull them out of their vehicle and beat them with their own walking equipment.
/rant.
Edit: I just realized this shows nothing to insurance companies about older drivers and just show when younger drivers are tailgating and rear ending people or taking turns too quickly and crashing. Old people may not have as many accidents but they are the number one reason for road rage and traffic jams. For these reasons they need driving tests and vision checks regularly. Not to mention how many of them cut me off while riding my motorcycle because they can't see me.
