The guy asked me what I wanted specifically and when to check what was in stock. Turns out they had one in Vancouver and one in Ottawa but they cannot sell it to me for the price that I negotiated, buy if I were willing to pay "a couple thousand more" they can get it for me in one day. They also told me they sold "3-4 after I bought mine and the all got it already". I'm not sure if it was a sales pitch or whatever because they told me in a hush-hush, friend to friend manner because they weren't allowed to steal business from another dealer, especially after I placed my order.
My issue is that I've already waited for 8 weeks, they did say 8-10 weeks so I'm still giving them the benefit of the doubt for the remaining 2 weeks but I'm not feeling too good about the situation, seeing as they did get a new shipment and there IS 2 cars available that I'm sure they can get for me right away if they wanted to + all the bs they fed me.

Any dealer can not only give you a VIN, they can tell you exactly where the vehicle is. When I was a BMW salesman, I had access to the build from the minute it went into prep, through the assembly line, the staging area for ocean shipping, when it was on the boat, and when it arrived in port. I'd be surprised if six years later (I had that job until 2007), Nissan doesn't give the same access to their sales staff at the dealer level.
