Boeing builds a 747 in 4-5 months from start to finish...
I think it's a case of poor time management and milking the customer for all they could get. Then when the customer wised up they panicked and threw stuff together.
That or they were totally incompetent and/or lazy. They also had a lot of turnover during this "build", which should say something else about the company too. |
read this. it has some of forged side of the story with multiple build plan changes and what not. who knows if thats true but this has emails as well as forum posts.
