bike riding is good, as long as you are doing a lot of peddling
but I think thats a good plan.. also
one thing you can do, is monday, run for 30 minutes no distance... wednesday, run 1/2 mile as fast as you can, friday run for 30 minutes
the following week, run 3/4 miles no matter how long it takes, then run for 30 minutes.. and then 3/4 miles no time
