Let me correct that, one the millions of ways they are above the law, and never incriminated for illegal, BLATANTLY illegal actions like speeding, running stop signs, having their car violate equipment laws, and so on? Dont get me started on the list.

Former MPD officer indicted in crash that killed two - Action News 5 - Memphis, Tennessee
A good friend of mine and one of my partners. He made a mistake and they are now charging him with two counts of vehicular homicide and three counts of aggravated assault. Police get charged with crimes too. You dont hear about the minor ones. We had an officer get ticketed because his personal car had expired tags. One of our Precinct commanders walked the parking lot of the precinct and saw his tags were expired lol. Does he deserve it? Hell yeah he does! Theres no reason why he should be able to have expired tags when no one else can. I have also had a failure to maintain safe look out ticket (accident in the squad car DOH!!) and a speeding ticket since being a police officer. You dont hear about these things but they do occasionally happen. We can also get departmentally charged (suspension days) for those violations rather than tickets, which sucks way more.
BTW there is a reason I dont ticket people for window tint....
