1) Don't use deception to combat deception, shows you're no better than they are. Also may start the negotiation of your compensation on the wrong foot.
2) Agree with the many, keep a calm head.
3) Decide what you want as compensation, before going in (be it written or vebal apology from techs, service manager & dealership, suspension of techs, discount on the price of the service they performed, etc). This is very important because, if you don't have an idea of compensation, don't expect them to know what to compensate you either.
4) Be fair, then if the service manager does not give you the compensation you feel you deserve than definitely move it up the food chain.
