You have a point. I made this exact same mistake. However I knew my insurance would sky rocket owning this car so I was ready for the increase in premium.

First year, cost was ~$1500 for 6 months for 370Z
Second year, cost is ~$1000 for 6 months for 370Z

clean record, defensive driving discount, 28 single male.

no change in coverage at all.

If you're under 25, good luck. I owned a POS 1995 240sx at 23 and even still insurance was $1400 for 6 months at the STATE MINIMUM. I can only image what a 370Z would be Once I hit 25, the rate plummeted to $580 for 6 months.
