Just an observation. I'm not pro or con of CVT. Get used to CVT being around for a long time. Engineers and performance analysts see this as a baby growing into maturity. There was a lot wrong with them but if you get into 2013 models? I can tell you they are improving bi-yearly. I think one more decade and you will find high performance CVT's that are worth something.
Engineers have mastered the efficiency aspect, almost mastered reliability but are just getting into injecting performance. CVT will be a long work in progress and Nissan, the pioneer of CVT's aren't going to give up on improving them as long as they are the bulk of nissan sales. Most people like them for the non hesitating power offered in passenger vehicles. Shifting them lacks something though. That will get better from an electronic standpoint like wack azz electric steering..
