it's a market they can have success in, especially with Renault's help. Let's just hope Nissan is smart enough to offer multiple engine choices. Offer a 1.6/1.8 130 hp engine, and try a 1.8T that Mercedes puts in its US spec C250 Sport or creat a 1.4T. A econo hatch and a sport version would sell well.
You need to be competitive:
Ford Fiesta, Ford Fiesta ST (turbo)
Ford Focus, Ford Focus ST (turbo)
VW Golf, VW GTI (turbo)
Fiat 500, Fiat 500T (turbo), FiaT 500 Abarth (turbo)
Mini Cooper, Mini Cooper S (Turbo)
Chevy sonic, Chevy Sonic RS (turbo)
There is a pattern there!
Brands that don't do the multiple engines:
Nissan Versa
Toyota Vitz/scion xD/Toyota Yaris
Honda Fit
