Half these econo boxes on tame roads with automatics will make you fall asleep behind the wheel. But i've driven some of these econoboxes in manual transmission on the mountains of Puerto Rico!!! Man it's like driving a serious sports car. So much more fun and exciting. I've driven the Toyota Vitz in PR, Mitsubishi lancer, Suzuki Fuego, mini cooper old mazda rx7 from 80's honda civic crx and Corolla. All these cars fairly low hp with manual transmissions felt like beasts on those mountains.
I think it's what those cars are made for. The terrain in Asia is extremely similar to PR. I've driven the auto versions of some of those cars in PR mountains
