Spot on kan, I'm not saying don't get your numbers before you buy the car exactly; more like, just making sure he knows that using every bit of free cash toward a car is a bad idea. It was a little presumptuous of me, but when I see threads where people don't even have jobs yet, but are thinking of purchasing cars, I worry for their welfare.

As for insurance companies, I rarely say this about anything, but they need governmental regulation. What they are allowed to base rates on is crazy.
