Oh, and I read the instructions I gave you. That's a different way than what I have done. Mine I just use the eraser tool and colo[u]r the spots I want to.

Click on the "Create new fill or adjustment layer" and select "Black & White" like before.

Switch to the eraser tool and colo[u]r what you want to be red.

So much easier, and this should let you zoom in to like 500%.
