once I replaced my flex wheel I was able to adjust the timing just fine
but again it will depend on the sensibility of the knock sensor, if they do feel too much noise they will back off on the timing.

after I upgraded (special case) my cable from the tuner version to the PRO cable , I had control on the knock sensivity and it did seem to have helped a little bit but the OEM ECU is self learning and adjusting itself . so you will not have a complete full control out of it.

for the price its a good buy though..
