Up here kids under 12 are the teachers responsibility and they could not let them out early like that (it's illegal) they need to have them on the property until the scheduled time!

We never got to leave early due to weather in school - of any grade! - if it rained, we just had to stay inside and play games. Then we'd get yelled at, because we were playing poker (in elementary & Jr. High).
