The SIII's tend to stay on, which I think is due to the face recognition keeping the screen on because it thinks something is looking at it or at least moving.Most android phones have options to turn off the screen after a certain time if the face recon feature is turned off.

hummmm... that's odd.
on the bypass. i have one in my dd since i run dvd more often in that car. i dont ever watch dvd's in my Z either.
can you return your unit and replace it with that appradio2?
if you bought it from amazon, they have great return policies.
