Good for you on passing the deal. I know it sucks to think you're passing up a better deal, but you just have to assume it was "too good to be true". Usually it is good to trust your instincts when it comes to craiglist. It can be just as bad when you're selling items as buying, because a seller usually gets 5 spam offers to every real offer, at least in my experience. Whether or not the guy was a scammer, you can rest easy knowing you didn't have to deal with the drama.
