you see, that's wat im worried about. you dont open the hood to do the steering lock replacment and not sure if they even know wat a steering lock is.

and i hate having to have to explain to them what i did and how i got the part and so on so forth.

im too tired now. honestly $500 is not worth my time and aggravation. the ONLY reason why i bought the lock in the first place is i didn't want to deal with the dealer.

This. They don't need to be touching anything to see that your steering lock is the correct revision and that it is working properly.

i did ask but the lady said the person wasn't available (on another call). it appears nissan has a set protocol that cannot be broken as it can lead to a liability issue down the road. i had a feeling even if i had spoken to her boss, they would've just said the same thing.

down the road, in my line of work, i am sure to run into someone with power at nissan. at that time, i will make a joke out of it and have them give me browny points in other ways.

while 500 is a chunk of change, i bought the unit originally not thinking i would be reimbursed anyway, so it's okay. i have budget set aside for my cars and my Z is well within budget.

not like im going to be homeless next spring.
btw, won another contract today at work. wtf...
