There's a new consumer version of Opticoat that's pretty easy to apply. You just need to make sure the panel you're applying it to is 100% the way you want it to stay- swirls polished out, paint chips repaired, etc.

That's the time-consuming part. Applying the opticoat is just a matter of applying it and then going over it within a few minutes to level out any spots that haven't flashed off completely.
