I am running the stock Akebono sport brakes and rotors with Carbo-Tech XP-10 pads, Castrol SRF brake fluid, steel lines, and brake ducts.

My Akebono’s are certainly taking a beating. At my last track day we got red flagged and I had to come to a stop without any cool down. My brakes looked like they were on fire. They were so hot that they turned the Permatex Extreme Temperature Ceramic Brake lube into dust. And that stuff is supposedly rated to 3000 degrees.

Of course my dust boots have completely melted. However, nothing is leaking yet.

The problems I had with my past wilwoods had to do with the wilwood street/track pad. The brakes worked great. If I had a choice, I would take the Wilwood setup over the stock Akebono's. Wilwood is a pioneer in the brake business. They were doing brake kits for racers long before the import tuner craze and they will be doing them long after.
