It's all about right tools for the right job. The cheap strap wrench finish would not even try to grip the knob, just slide (yes I know how to use one) Apparently i needed the magic BLUE strap wrench everyones using in the diys .As far as people saying they twisted it off with their hands and grips on the base, 100% not possible on mine (all I did overseas was lift weights lol). I have a hunch different vehicles have different amounts of loctite. I'm not at my house and didn't have the right tools haha. I didn't care about the oem shift knob regardless or I would have waited
