Now, doing something different with that spot has a different effect. So, if you have it strobe/flash like a formula brake and never stay solid, that would be cool and no longer a 'fog' light.

I don't look at it as a fog light. I look at it as a rear driving light like the tails. The Japanese/Canadian OEM fog is wired to be a 7440 using 25 watts and that matches the brightness of the brake lights. Way too bright for just driving around in an area where we see fog maybe 1 day a year.
Nissan made the call we didn't need one at all, at least mine glows.
