I never said you have to be less careful. Please reread the statement you quoted.

All I'm trying to point out is that between the two materials one cracks under sufficient pressure and the other is more likely to bend under the same load.

I suppose the argument would be something along the lines of "When is that ever gonna happen?". Probably never, but like I said before, it's just for peace of mind (personally; the OP can do whatever he pleases).
