Ok so I have a s and r top mount kit. And one thing they do is relocate the P. S. Reservoir to the other side of the engine bay. I have put 7000 miles on the car since with no problems. I live up here in Indiana so I have only driven the Z when there is no snow on the streets. Last week it was cold and started the car and drove about 2 miles and smelled Trans fluid so took it to my shop immediately. Pulled the under body cover off and there was about half cup of ps fluid all over the front. So we cleaned It all up ran the car turning the wheel and everything else we could do. Oh and I topped off the system first because that is definitely where it came from.. And could not find any leaks. So I took her home. The last couple of weeks I have not driven her at all. Yesterday I went out and started her and the pump was whining like it was low on fluid. So I backed it out of the garage and seen a 6 inch circle of fluid. Opened the hood and the Reservoir was low and the fluid look like it was airrated like it had bubbles on in it. Mind that the car has only been running for less than a minute.
So does anyone have any idea of what is happening here? I am very mechanically inclined and this one is a stumper. The only things I can think of is they used the wrong kind of hose and it may be collapsing. Or is there a filter in the system somewhere that might be plugged. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
