in Colorado, LADAR "jammers" are not legal, but radar and Laser DETECTORS are. So when I had mine installed, the techs were very careful to tell me that the unit comes shipped with the LADAR "shifter" turned off, and that they were not allowed to turn them on for me. They also very carefully explained the process to turn it on/off. (10 seconds tops from the control head, its about like adjusting the volume)

So, if you are in a "jammer illegal, but detector legal" state, you are still good to go to get one professionally installed. Then its up to you to decide when and where to turn the jammers on.

Or just install it yourself, but its pretty involved and you have to pull out a LOT of trim, open the stereo up for a good power lead, unzip your steering wheel, and probably the bumper too. Fun if your a preficient install guy, (I am not THAT good)
