Because, a car isn't a car when it's electric. You're taking away what most enthusiasts (or at least me) enjoy - the sounds, the exhaust note.

The electric motor whine just doesn't do it for me.



Granted, they care more about the majority rather than the enthusiasts, as that's where they're going to make their money.
