I already read that forum posting; I was hoping for something a little more detailed and ideally with some pictures.
It seems that the Sport package brakes are also a little different than stock. Also one of the links that someone posted no longer works. I would hate to start the procedure and then get stuck.

This is the DIY for a
rotor replacement to give you an idea of what's going on under there.
Plenty of videos on YouTube for general brake pad replacement. The one's on the Z with Sports Package are the same concept, but I believe the pads are held in w/ pins. Others will have to verify, but you may not even need to compress the piston(s) in the calipers. I'm assuming you still do however so the new pads can fit. AutoZone has brake repair tools you can borrow or you can just use some c-Clamps with some padding so you don't mess up the finish.

There are 2 pins that go across the top of the caliper and hold the brake pads in place. Those pins are secured themselves with cotter pins.
Remove the cotter pins and with a small punch, drive the pins out of the calipers.
Once the pins are removed, pull the pads out of the top.
Use a couple of flat blade screwdrivers to push the pistons back into the calipers to make room for the new, thicker pads.
Transfer the shims from the old pads to new ones, and reinsert the pads in the calipers.
Replace the pins and cotter pins and you are done.

As with anything, if you've never done this sort of thing before & unsure of your skills, save yourself the trouble and let a pro handle it. Ask if you can watch while they install the pads and learn from it. The brakes are undoubtfully one of the most important aspect of your car in terms of safety. It's an easy job, but there isn't really any room for error.
