I don't think this is off topic...
My wife's 330i has a gazzilion little "spokes" and its a AT and she rides the bajeezus out of her brakes. I've soaped and I've scrubbed, but they are a B**ch to get clean.
Now, I just hit them with my pressure washer and the THICK coat of brake and road goo plus the (Colorado) Magnesium Chloride comes right off. Its probably not good enough a clean for a show car type finish, but for a DD its easy, fast, and awesome.
I bought my pressure washer used for about 100 bucks on Craigs list. gas powered, 3000 psi. Just keep it a safe distance from your finish and its effective fast and kinda fun.
(Its also really good for cleaning out your suspension and exhaust from below in the winter.)
