the 370z ECU cant control the cam timing.
I got the power connected on the HR ECU to get the ROM for the future tune.
Im almost done re-assembling the engine, tomorrow is the timing chain and closing the front plate !
Once this is done, I will focus my time to fully connect the HR ECU to the 370z wiring and keeping everything.
I got about 75% figured out.
as far as why Im switching to the 6MT instead of that 7AT
there is a lot of reasons why I must do the switch !
- reliability
- performance
- weight
- cost
-reliability; the 7at overheat quite easily if there isnt an oil cooler installed, I had one since 2010.
-Performance; dont get me wrong, the 7AT is a very nice tranny that I enjoyed very much but now since Im asking the car much more than just lapping for fun . the 7AT is too slow react on time , downshifting/upshifting right before a corner or after.
It also doesnt have enough direct feel from the engine.
-weight; it weight more than the 6MT !
-cost; replacing the 7AT is very expensive and that flex flywheel break to easily for me ! after not even 15 000km (98% of highway driving. 2% track)
it already broken at 2 spots
having a broken flex plate, the knock sensor can become annoyed by the vibrating noise and can/will pull timing! it happenned to me for almost a complete year where nobody could explain this.
