Nissan removed the steering lock unit entirely during mid-2011 production - that should tell you all you need to know about the latest revision of the SLU...

You are absolutely correct. I will do it this weekend. Pretty easy fix.
By pulling the fuse, it doesn't disrupt anything or cause an issue somewhere else?
