If I totaled it..yeah, I did something seriously wrong lol. Personally, I say that getting it for your first weekend out isn't a bad idea. Past there, you should be ok.

The trouble with this is... you need it most when you don't have it.
IMO, if you can afford to write your car off... do with out. If you can't, buy track insurance*.
*If you can't afford to pay the high deductible should you total your car, don't go to the track yet.
