I know I'm probably gonna get flamed to death for saying this, but I'm a Bose fan. I got an awesome Craigslist deal one my home theater set when a guy got caught cheating on his wife. She sold all his stuff, and I got the whole set of speakers, sub, and receiver for $250. My wife also got me a 2.1 Bose system for the computer and they sound amazing. My only complaint is that at super high levels it will drop the bass and distort the sound some, the built in amp can only do so much.

I have Klipsch Image S4 headphones that I use for in-ear monitors when I play at church. They sound just as good as the leader's $450 Shure IEMs, and I paid $35 on amazon for an open box deal.

A friend was bragging about his $300 Beat headphones one day and said they sounded better than anything on the market. I laughed a lot and then let him listen to my $35 Klipschs and smiled as his face got sad.

For home if I want to play video games or just keep it down at night I have Turtle Beach PX5 wireless headphones. Dual Bluetooth and 7.1 surround sound makes me happy
