Nah it's a snap. You use a towel around the shift lever and a pipe wrench to hold it in place (to keep it from torquing -
THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT), then use a 2nd pipe wrench on the knob itself to tear the goddamn thing off.
Once you have it off, use a wire brush to remove the excess loctite from the screw threads and then tighten down your new knob.
Important to note that your OEM shift knob will not survive this ordeal. Mine literally ripped in half all the way down to the threading.
