So the moment you've all been waiting for.... I am a proud new member of the Z club. I love the car! Pics to come.

I do have one question though. The dealer said that Nissan puts some type of special rough coating on a part of the engine. Pic Below. Can you confirm whether this is true?

I personally don't like the new bumper, so I'd rather go for the '12. Pretty much identical mechanically and a ton more options should you decide to add a front lip spoiler.

Cold temps in NY, so leave the VDC on for now

I agree. I do prefer the 12 bumper over the 13. I'm definitely happy with my choice.

It makes more sense to update your daily driver for between $5k-$10k save you hard earned money you saved, pissing it up on a $30k season vehicle isn't worth it, unless you can afford to throw away money.

Your point makes sense. Fortunately, I don't need a dd because I commute by train to work during the week. Also, the winters seem to be more mild compared to prior years in NY.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you ride a motorcycle. I do too and riding season in NY is even shorter than for a sports car. Recently, I've been thinking about the dangers and consequences of riding. Don't get me wrong, I love my bike and never thought I would ever mention the word "sell" in the same sentence, unless it would be to say "I will never sell my bike." But when you hear about riders breaking their bones, becoming paralyzed or getting killed because someone didn't see them, it really makes you take a hard look and ask if it's really worth it. I would venture out to say that it's probably safer to drive a car than ride a bike especially when you factor in errors made by other cagers. So that was my main justification for getting a sports car. I wanted something that can still give me performance, but also provide me with more safety.

Either way, thanks for looking out and ride safe man.

If all is well, the price sounds okay to me---it's $600 more than what I paid in 2009 for my base with automatic, brand new.
I did get a Car Fax and everything checked out. My dad also checked out the car - he's been working on them for over 40 years.

My best guess would be that the previous owner had expenses he needed to pay after Sandy and needed cash quick. That's what I gathered from looking at the Car Fax.
