Thanks. Sounds like, if nothing else, isolating the amp would give you one less thing to worry about when troubleshooting.
I don't remember running into any ground loop problems back in The Good Ol' Days, but we weren't likely to bolt the amps down. Most common setup was just shoved under one of the seats. If you wanted to show it off, you'd screw it down to the fiberboard on the back shelf.

Ofttimes 'tis better to know what not to do than what to do.
