As most have mentioned, try to stay away from those type of car washes. They use VERY harsh chemicals, which do they bulk of the "cleaning" since there are no brushes used there for agitation. Those chemicals will degrade any sealant/glaze/wax you currently have protecting your finish VERY QUICKLY!

If your car gets especially dirty, just pull in and use water only to knock of the majority of the heavy stuff, then head somewhere that you can do a proper 2-bucket wash. Take a look at these videos:
