Default

10 sacks of 60lb Quickrete concrete in the boot and passenger flooring, over inflate tires by 5-7 psi(unless using snow tires); fixed.

Technique, if manual - start in second around 5K rpm releasing accelerator immediately when you can idle, then shift to 3rd to go faster than 2nd idle-speed.
Automatic - Try not to come out of 2nd, if you need to go faster, set your shift light to ~3,500 rpm.

This is just my suggestion if you have to drive the Z. Feel free to do as you feel safe. To me, snow and ice is 'basic'. Tornadoes at night are the challenge.

(learned to drive in a '54 Chevy deuce and a half flatbed 4-speed with no 3rd gear/learned to drive in snow in a '67 Pontiac GTO manual)

Glad to hear you didn't ruin your car, yourself, or anyone else or their car.
