I'm not positive it won't work, but I'm almost positive it's unnecessary. GTM uses oil and water cooled turbos. Since the turbos are mounted so low, the hot coolant should continue to rise after shutdown and draw colder coolant through the turbo. If you're running good oil and changing it often, you most likely won't see oil coking in the lines and turbo. But, if you've already got the turbo timer, it won't hurt anything to put it on.
