I'd suggest you find someone familiar with airbags to manually disconnect and remove it, but thats not the right direction to take. Handling airbags without being carefull could kill you. I personally wouldn't mess with any part of the airbag system at all and certainly wouldn't risk my kid's safety. I'm not exactly sure how the airbag system is wired up, but I'm assuming there must be parts you can buy from Nissan.
