After replacing the clutch pedal it is totally different from stock, I know what you're talking about, I didn't like that feeling so before I even had 1K miles on my Z i've already switched out the pedal for the RJM adjustable one. Good luck.
this is actually spot on with our cars. if you are putting around shift that way. if you are being agressive shift quicker. sounds simple but finding the right amout of timing and effort takes practice.
