Where do I start ...
First of all, thank you so much for all your kind words. Reading those posts really made me feel better when I was
down and depressed. Thanks to Triple's for posting an update for me. It wasn't until the late following day when the electricity came back to our hotel room but we didn't had wi-fi due to comcast being out. Sorry I couldn't post an update.
Me and my family are okay - thank god. But I can't say the same for my house. It was flooded with about 3-4 feet surge of water. Luckily water didn't stay long. It drained when the tide went down but it was long enough to damage everything from 3-4 feet from ground. Off top of my head, I know our washer, dryer, water heater, gas heat (for the house), 42" tv, 32" tv, lawn mower, 2 sofas, 1 mattress/bed, 1 treadmill, 1 refrigerator (me and my brother took off a door to move the freezer upstairs but refrigerator just wouldn't fit through), Motive brake bleeder (black label)
, some of my detailing stuff that I was using recently and who knows what small things laying around - were damaged in the water surge. We kinda had to rush through as mandatory evacuation time was approaching us. There hasn't been any electricity since Monday in our house. So, anything in the freezer (hundreds of lb.s meat) are probably bad by now. Not to mention all the stuff in the refrigerator. But I'm looking at the big picture that
WE are okay. Other than flood damage, our house is still there. What if Sandy took our house with her to the ocean? things could have been much much worse. I'm just very
grateful that at least when they let us in to our city, we will have a place to sleep. As you guys saw it on the news, NOT many can say that. Sandy was the worst hurricane I have seen in my lifetime. It destroyed homes like it was made of paper.
We are NOT allowed to go back to our house or city. My brother have access to city being a Police Officer, hence he was able to go in and inform us about the damage. They are NOT allowing any public to go back yet as of 1:08 pm EST Thursday. I was told they are in the process of cleaning the roads, fixing electric poles/lines and trying to bring back electricity and fix the sewerage. Sewerage seems to be the biggest problem right now - as I was told.
The hotel we are living is full with no vacancy. So everyday we are not certain if we will stay or have to look for another hotel. Yesterday there were cancellation in reservation so we were able to stay. About 5 min ago, we just got assurance that we can stay tonight as there were couple of cancellations in reservation. I should also mention that my baby aka the Z is safe and parked right outside. If something happen to my Z, I'd be soo devastated.
How did everyone made out? any damage to their house or Z? I salute all the people who have been working night and day to restore my town and many other towns in the area. It's amazing what you can accomplish when everyone gets together and help

We're not out of the woods yet. Stay safe fellas. Lots of down trees, power lines and broken stoplights everywhere.

This is the shopping center not even 1/4 mile from my house. My house, if anything, lower or same level as this. So I knew once I saw this pic my house was flooded. What I didn't know was by "how much" water
