Well there is a draw on the battery. Blinking dash light. However small, still a draw. And over a few months, it will drain the battery. I used to park my Z for up to 5 months. Yes, winters here suck! Many times, there wasn't enough to even turn on the dome light. After charging, everything worked fine. I only had my Z for 3 years though.
But I do sell batteries and I've always believed that after 5 years, you've gotten your money's worth and are kind of rolling the dice. The oem battery is
nothing to write home about, but you should probably get 4 or 5 years out of it as a D.D.. Storing the Z and not giving the battery some kind of maintenance will shorten the life span. And by maintenance, I mean trickle charging with an automatic (shutting off) type of charger. Adding water shouldn't be necessary unless you over charge it. (Thus the automatic charger.)
