I usually stop it a little short of the recommended psi when I'm filling up cold tires in cold weather just for that reason. I can't fill up my tires with nitrogen at home, so I stopped doing that after my first tire change. I also had a lot of difficultly finding nearby shops that carry nitrogen, so that was another reason to switch. But for those that don't mind taking to the dealership, nitrogen is a good alternative.
