Neither case is a problem unless you track the car...
I have friends with 370Z that drive their Z's hard - No fuel starvation issues, no overheating into limp mode issues. Their vehicles range from 09's thru '011 (mine), and we all go out, have fun, do some pretty spirited driving, and (knock on wood) none of us have had any of these issues come up.
My advice: If you plan on making the Z Race Track ready, then you need to upgrade your brakes, install an oil cooler, upgrade your sway bars, upgrade your springs, make sure your tires are competition grade, upgrade the fuel system so you do go into fuel starvation mode while racing with very low fuel in the tank...
Otherwise, for a Sports Car, the 370Z is fun, an eye catcher/head turner, and a pleasure to drive... worth every penny I spent on purchasing her and upgrading her into the toy she is now.
I am very happy and satisfied enormously with my purchase - Thanks NISSAN for a
superior Sports Car, as the Z has been since the S30 took over the Car markets and changed the way Sports Cars are made, thought of, and loved by their owners.
