I did it last night, I used marine epoxy, water proof and good to to 3000 psi. I used a 90 degree angled 1 inch piece of aluminum,made it about 2 feet long, if I had to do it again I would have made it a bit longer and wider, I think 2 inch will fit just fine.

It was starting to sag already... re formed it with a heat gun. I curved the front of it with my grinder too so it forms right to the curves of the lip in the front. I can always redo it if it does not work. I post a few pics later.
