however, even if you got training -whether or not something goes wrong- the person you're rendering aid to can still sue you. it doesn't mean that person will win, but there's still the posibility that person can say "well, i wouldn't have 3 broken ribs if that guy hadn't performed CPR on me after I flipped my car"
