There's more than just "shims" that have to be replaced as well. Pinion bearings, collapsible spacer, pinion height adjusting washer, etc...
I would recommend upgrading the stock POS viscous LSD as well while the rear diff is opened up.
I don't know if I would trust a Nissan tech to do this job. I take mine to a local trans/rear diff shop that specializes in setting up gears.

There's really no specialty shop for transmissions like they do in the states. They did tell me that they won't know what sizes they'd need till they open it up though. The problem is, Nissan here doesn't stock parts like most dealers do and average way time is about two weeks. So thats two weeks without a car.

He should reuse the pinion shim after pressing the pinion bearing off. If he does not reuse to old pinion bearing then you will need new pinion shims and he will have to set the pinion depth, which I wouldn't trust most techs to do correctly. Best bet is to reuse the old pinion shim and bearing.
Thanks for the tip, I'll keep this in mind when they try to tell me otherwise.

Thanks Dustin, I appreciate it. I'm an avid Z1 buyer and may be contacting you here shortly for deals on a clutch/flywheel and a 34row Oil cooler

Because of this, I may have to wait till I go stateside or better yet scrap the idea because of my thoughts of doing a SC

+Rep for all thank you..
