IMHO, you want a padded VCAS. QD swivels mounted one end on the left rear of the handgrip (
Mount n' Slot - IWC) and the other mounted on a QD endplate or rear of your stock if it has a socket. I prefer rear of stock on opposite side because I've found that the rifle hangs better, it sweeps away better for transitions to pistol, and it's easier for transition to weak hand shooting.
Slings are one of those items, like holsters, that most shooters diddle around with for years continually trying to find just the right setup. This is what my 20 years of diddling around has evolved to. So far.
