If these are "dry carbon" why do you clear them to make them look like normal, hand laid wet carbon?

Could you explain the process for us? My understanding of carbon was that "dry carbon" is pre-preg which uses an autoclave to cure. Anything that isn't per-impregnated with resin is, technically, not "dry carbon."

I'm no expert but that is my understanding of it.
