I still have a copy of the TSB covering this and no where does it state the extent the damage has to be nor does it limit the size of the tear and I see nowhere that it states the length of time you have to report this damage.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. If the soft top fabric is damaged:
a. Replace the soft top fabric (cover).
2. If the soft top fabric is not damaged adjust the window

In the end they did what was right but only after a little discussion with me. I was OK until they stated that the person who installed the tint onto my door glass was the one who maladjusted my windows when they took them out.

I then proceeded to show them the ASE Certification Tech cards I still carry from when I was in the Automotive Repair business and let them know very quickly that I was present when the windows were tinted and that the Glass was never removed nor were the adjustment bolts tampered with.

They stated their techs said that was the only way to tint the glass below the door seals and I then proceeded to tell them that if their techs did not know how to do it I could go show them how since I was the one who showed the people installing the tint how it should be done.

Of course they just went ahead and reimbursed me for the glass adjustments and replaced the top with no further questions.

Two days after I got it back the weather cleared up. SO I finally let the new top down for my first time and I found the little Square Bat-wing cover on the passengers side, that goes down to cover a hole when the top is down, had a crack in it. Well the wifie noticed it. So I started to put the top back up and looked underneath and you could see where someone had taken, what appeared to be a soldering iron, and attempted to repair where it had been broken.

I took it back again and let them know real NICE LIKE that I can understand the damage but what really pissed me off was someone trying to repair and then HIDE it from me. This time when I pointed this out there were no questions
asked they ordered the complete assembly for the drivers and passengers side. They installed it for no charge and again gave me a vehicle to drive for the day.

In the end I am happy. They still have me as a customer but they now know who I am by name when ever they see me and what I mean by they is "I am pretty sure anyone who works at the dealership".

I did not say they like me but they do like my $$$. Well I guess they do since I have had very little done there that cost me anything yet.

I am pretty sure they now know I do check behind them.

Now everyone with a Nissan 370Z Roadster (Convertible) knows how to perform the following don't they??

If the power window automatic function (closing only) does not operate properly, perform the following procedure to initialize the power window system.

1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Close the door.
3. Open the window completely by operating
the power window switch.
4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to
close the window, and then hold the switch
more than 3 seconds after the window is
closed completely.
5. Release the power window switch. Operate
the window by the automatic function to
confirm the initialization is complete.
6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other
windows.
